The Horizon 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) update is in development. Once completed and approved in September 2026, it will be the comprehensive transportation plan for the WWW region. It will identify multimodal transportation needs through the year 2050 and will make recommendations for enhanced transportation efficiency and functionality, including construction of new facilities, improved connectivity to other modes, and the enhancement of existing facilities.
The projects and strategies to be included in this plan will be identified through public and stakeholder engagement and an extensive analysis of related plans and public datasets. This plan will be designed to be implementable, all projects include cost estimates and are prioritized based on realistic funding projections and timeframes. A comprehensive and engaging 12-month planning process is being followed, which includes a combination of data collection and technical analysis and numerous conversations with many stakeholders and citizens who live, work, and play in this community.
